First HyBatt bus with fuel cell hydrogen drive delivered to UVG

Corporate News

In the presence of the Brandenburg Ministers for Agriculture, Environment and Climate Protection and for Infrastructure and Regional Planning, Axel Vogel and Guido Beermann, Clean Logistics handed over the first HyBatt bus to the Uckermärkische Verkehrsgesellschaft (UVG). The Mercedes-Benz Citaro, which has been retrofitted with a fuel cell hydrogen drive system, has a high-performance energy system with a range of over 300 kilometers. The new local bus will be used on the route to the Lower Oder Valley National Park in northeastern Brandenburg and will begin emission-free passenger service.

The alternative drive concept developed by Clean Logistics is CO2-neutral and conserves resources. Compared to the production of a new bus, the conversion technology leads to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. In order to build up a climate-neutral and future-oriented vehicle fleet, transport associations do not have to purchase any new vehicles, thus eliminating a significant CO2 burden. In this way, a climate-polluting diesel bus is taken off the road and equipped with climate-friendly future technology. In addition, bus drivers will not have to adjust to a new type of vehicle.

Clean Logistics will deliver another HyBatt bus to UVG before the end of Q3 2021. Currently, Clean Logistics is significantly expanding its existing conversion resources. Negotiations are currently underway with other transport associations to start converting conventional diesel buses to hydrogen-powered vehicles. Series conversion of conventional buses and truck tractors to hydrogen-powered vehicles will begin in 2022, and there is already strong demand from fleet operators. Inquiries about conversions are currently in the high three-digit range.
